Fun Facts


#1 World's Largest Taco


Did you know that the world's largest taco that was made in Queretaro, Mexico, on November 20, 2011? It was 246 feet long, stretched an entire city block, and was filled with carnitas 

(Pulled pork).




#2 Taco truck was probably the first food truck


The first taco truck in the U.S. is believed to have been opened by Raul Martinez, a Mexican immigrant who converted an old ice cream truck into a mobile taco restaurant in 1974. He parked the truck outside an East Los Angeles bar and was so successful, he was able to open a restaurant (King Taco) just six months later.




#3 When did Tacos became popular?


Tacos were made popular in the U.S by Taco Bell. The first restaurant opened in 1962, but the owner, Glen Bell, first opened a taco stand called Taco-Tia in the 1950's in Los Angeles.
